Palo Santo

Palo Santo is a tree that grows on the coast of South America. There are many uses for Palo Santo or as known in Spanish, “Holly Tree”.

Energy clearing is one popular use for Palo Santo. It is said to cleanse the area and provide grounding and clear energy. I use this to cleanse my house on a regular basis and to cleanse my Reiki room.

The smell of Palo Santo is very pleasant and sweet; similar to Frankincense and Myrrh.

When you burn your Palo Santo stick the scent raises your Vibration level and helps with meditation. The overall feeling is calm and connected.

Palo Santo is similar to that of Sage and Cedar, however I find that it’s smell is more pleasant and subtle in comparison.

In some areas of the world, burning Palo Santo helps to ward off mosquitoes. I will be trying that myself this summer!

There are also healing benefits to using it’s essential oil.

To burn your Palo Santo light one end with a lighter and point the end down and away from you. After about a minute blow out the flame and allow the smoke to fill the air. I like to hold my abalone shell under it and move through out my room spreading the smoke. When I’m done I leave my stick inside of my abalone shell so it can cool with out causing damage to anything else.
